Pelosi says her household is ‘heartbroken and traumatized’ by brutal assault on her husband

In her first public feedback since her husband was attacked, Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated her household was “heartbroken and traumatized” by the brutal assault — however his situation is enhancing.

Paul Pelosi was violently attacked with a hammer by an intruder who broke into the couple’s residence in San Francisco early Friday morning. The Home Speaker was not in San Francisco on the time of the assault.

“Yesterday morning, a violent man broke into our household residence, demanded to confront me and brutally attacked my husband Paul,” she stated in a letter addressed to Home colleagues.

“Our youngsters, our grandchildren and I are heartbroken and traumatized by the life-threatening assault on our Pop.”

Paul Pelosi, 82, has since gone by means of a profitable surgical procedure to restore a cranium fracture and critical accidents to his proper arm and palms, Pelosi’s spokesman stated on Friday.

“His situation continues to enhance,” the Home Speaker stated within the letter.

The 42-year-old-assailant, David DePape, is being charged with tried murder, assault with a lethal weapon, elder abuse “and several other different extra felonies,” in response to San Francisco Police Chief William Scott.

A supply informed CNBC the attacker was looking for the House Speaker, shouting: “The place is Nancy, the place is Nancy?” earlier than he assaulted her husband.

“We’re grateful for the short response of legislation enforcement and emergency companies, and for the life-saving medical care he’s receiving,” the Home Speaker stated on Twitter late Saturday.
