This Egyptian poet spreads Urdu in Arab world – Instances of India


MEERUT: Urdu poet Walaa Jamal El Esseily, an affiliate professor of Urdu at Ain Shams College, Cairo, in Egypt discovered love for the South Asian language throughout commencement.
A international language in an Arabic-speaking nation, she studied all main poets of India and Pakistan and determined that analysis within the language was truly her true calling. Nile, being each culturally and traditionally ingrained within the psyche of Egyptians, her poetry in Urdu has the essence of the river in an emotional kind.
Prof Esseily who was in Meerut to attend an Urdu convention in Chaudhary Charan Singh College, made a degree to go to Ghalib Academy in Delhi.
“Mirza Ghalib was a legendary ‘shayar’ and has all the time been my supply of inspiration with regards to poetry and romantic overtures in Ahmad Faraz’s poetry are par excellence,” she stated.
Esseily’s Urdu couplets give glimpses of the panorama of the Nile, flowing eternally via Egypt, specific human feelings in addition to hits out at hatred.
She recites just a few couplets of her ghazal: “Beti hai tu walaa, is gair faniye Neel ki, teri har ek sher hai, nagma-e-Neel (Nile) ka, dekhte hai Misr wale jab kinar Neel ka, yaad aa jaata unko sara kissa Neel ka (Walla, you’re daughter of eternally flowing Nile. Your every sentence and ghazal is the story of Nile. When folks of Egypt see the financial institution of the Nile, they recall your entire story of it).”
Expressing her everlasting love for the Nile in one other couplet, she wrote: “Misr aao doston tumko agar fursat mile, kam se kam ek baar dekho najara Neel ka (Buddies, come to Egypt in case you might spare time, no less than, see the panorama of Nile river as soon as).”
